Welcome to Year 2

Children in Year 2 are part of Key Stage 1 and continue to study English, maths, science and the foundation subjects. In Year 2, the Little Wandle Spelling programme is used as a continuation from the foundations of learning in Year 1 and Reception.  The children in Year 2 work with Year 1 in our Key Stage One Unit (The Pod) where they have access to dedicated outdoor space, separate focused teaching areas and a space for continuous and enhanced provision. To support your child, please read with them regularly at home, we recommend at least five times a week. In Year 2, your child is entitled to a free fruit snack at break time and a free school meal.
