Physical Education & PE Premium Funding
Physical activity and participation in sport is a core part of our Federation offer. We love to see our children active and outdoors as much as possible. We use our PE budget with careful consideration to ensure that we can give our children as wide a sporting curriculum as possible, working in collaboration with Saints Southwest. As well as sports in school, we have offered skateboarding and circus skills workshops, been on outdoor activity and climbing trips and we also participate in fixtures with other schools. Class 2 also undertake swimming lessons in the village at no charge to parents, including survival skills in pyjamas!
The government is committed to ensuring that children and young people have access to at least 60 minutes of sport and physical activity per day, with a recommendation of 30 minutes of this delivered during the school day.
The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding allocated to schools that can help to achieve this aim. This additional government funding supports additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered through the core budgets.
