Mrs J Winsor
Another busy week in Year One. We have been enjoying some drama activities as part of our English, using music as a stimulus. We have been working on fractions in our Maths lessons, focusing on whole and half. We talked about how the parts of a whole shape must be equal and we have been enjoyed practical tasks like cutting shapes in half and dividing a quantity of objects. In RE we focused on how the Church celebrates Easter and the accompanying traditions. We have learned about how tea is made in our Geography work on Sri Lanka. Please can children remember to bring a coat to school because the weather can be very changeable at the moment! We have also been playing some games using an interactive hundred square which can be found at https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/paint-the-squares for those who have asked to do this at home.
